this seems to be an issue that is ignored. i have posted in numerous forums, and mostly get no response. for one thing, not so many people use onenote. and with performance and support like this, it is understandable.
btw: the onenote icons in outlook are not disabled for me. (except in a couple of contacts) . but they only return the error message when I use them.
i just uninstalled for the second time, using revo uninstaller this time, and reinstalled. didn't help. not having this problem on laptop. also checked services running on laptop and desktop and see none relevant that are running on laptop, but not
on desktop.
so, i am out of ideas. only other thing that makes sense is a reg entry, but i wouldn't know where to look. other possibility is that a ms update broke it. again i don't know which to try uninstalling. i lost the history when ms update failed last
month and the only way to fix it was to delete the folder containing update history.
too bad the ms techs, who supposedly know more about this than I aren't interested in helping. or, maybe they don't no any more than i do and have nothing to suggest.
i am also investigating use of other software, open office, and evernote. still need to find an email client, calendar and task manager. perhaps non ms software is less prone to sudden and inexplicable pro
