Sending through my ISP's SMTP server
All,I have my new exchange server running (2007). We just started with hosting it our selves. Some companies we send to subscribe to the DAL and RUPand stuff where they reject the e-mail as spam. So, I have read that I need to route the e-mail via my ISP. My ISP is bell canada. I found a few articles but it does not seem to be working.I created a new Send Connector - selected Internet - set my ISP smtp server to be the FQDN of the smarthost. I confimed wiht Bell that I do not need any aunthentication.I created another Send Connector - selected Intranet - set it to * to handle all internal e-mail?Anyhow, I know that I didn't explain that perfect, but does anyone have the quick and easy way to set up my external mail to go to my ISP :)Thanks Group.

Hi,Just remove the send connector for intranet. I asume this is the only server Exchange server in your organization ?In most cases the blocking is caused by one of the following reasons:- incorrect external DNS configuration (pointer record does not exists, pointer record points to an incorrect a record which has the name of the internet- connection in it)- ehlo/helo send by the send connector is not correct, this must match the name of a-record which is assigned to the ip-address you send withRegards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

Hi,
Please remove the intranet send connector, Exchange will do local lookup before send email out of organization, dont worry that the internal mails can be sent as outbound message.
Whats the NDR received in your client? Could you paste it here? At the same time, please use queue viewer at Toolbox of EMC to obtain more information about the failure.
Thank you,
Elvis
