Server 2003 Password Complexity Standards - Customization
I need to customize the password complexity standards of a 2003 DC. Instead of using the current standard of: Contains characters from three of the following categories:
Uppercase letters (A, B, C, and so on)
Lowercase letters (a, b, c, and so on)
Numbers (0, 1, 2, and so on)
Non-alphanumeric characters (#, &, ~, and so on)
I simply want to set the req's to be:
Non-dictionary work, or permutationOne non-alphanumeric character.
There are other req's but those I know how to set. Making the modifications listed above I *think* means changing the complexity req's for the "Strong Password Criteria"I just don't know how to make those changes, I have scoped out the GPO pretty thoroughly. At this point I'm thinking it must be a registry setting or a DLL that hard codes these specific req's.Any ideas... anyone?Scott B.
