Server Configuration for Clients
We are using outlook 2010 and exchange 2010. We have a webfiltering software that shows websites being accessed. I will randomly see on the web filtering log that people are accessing
https://server.domain.com/server.domain.com443. Is Outlook 2010 configured wrong, is the server configured wrong, any thoughts? I would think that Oultook would be connecting
direclty to the server.
Thank youEZ

Outlook uses Exchange Web Services for the offline address book, free-busy data, managing out of office and some other features. That URL you posted indeed looks wrong, so you might want to see if any of your virtual directories' ExternalURL or InternalURL
settings are configured wrong. On a workstation running Outlook, hold the Ctrl key down, click on the Outlook icon in the system tray, select Test E-mail AutoConfiguration, enter your e-mail address and password, clear the Guessmart checkboxes and then
click Test. You'll see the URLs that Exchange is providing to Outlook. Perhaps one of them is wrong.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

That is good, I should be seeing that traffic.
I did the test as you suggested, I think it is ok.
Internal OWA URL: https://"ServerName"."DomainName".com/owa
Availability Service URL:
https://"ServerName"."DomainName".com/EWS/asmx
OOF URL: https://"ServerName"."DomainName".com/EWS/Exchange.asmx
OAB URL:
https://"ServerName"."DomainName".com/OAB/81600c58...
On the log tab it shows:
https://"ServerName"."DomainName".com/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Succeeded.
The ServerName is the internal computer name. Does this all look correct?EZ

Agree.
https://server.domain.com/server.domain.com443. is not a regular format. generally, the Exchange web-based service URLs look like below:
https://servername/service/pagename/
