Server does not support secure connections - BUT IT DOES!!
Hi, hope you can help with this. All emails are working fine on our SBS 2008 network including internal, external and remote via OWA. We use the POP3 connector for incoming emails and a smarthost to send external outgoing emails. Yesterday for the first time I ran the "Exchange Troubleshooting Assistant" in Exchange 2007 just out of curiosity really. Everything was fine except for one error. Area: MailAcceptance Error submitting email Mail submission failed because the server does not support secure connections This is strange because staff use Outlook Web Access to get their emails remotely via https://remote.ourname.com/owa and this works fine. Our self issued certificate doesn't expire until 2012 so its not that and like I say, all staff can use OWA, Remote Web Workplace and Company web no problem. Why I am I getting an error saying my server does not support secure connections? Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi, Mail submission is the SMTP trafic on the Hub Transport service. It sounds a though you haven't turned on secure messaging on the HT role, and this doesn't have to be enabled. I normally only have secure smtp between my exchange servers not to the smart host. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.
