Server settings in MAIL in control panel keep resetting to old exchange server
I have a new Exchange 2003 Server that I have added to our network. The existing domain was setup as Windows 2000, but I have recently added a DC that is Windows 2003 and everything has been working fine for about six months. I have been slowly migrating everything off of our old Exchange 2000 server and I had a problem with a particular users mailbox recently. I went into system manager and right-clicked on her mailbox on the old server (Exchange 2000) and chose "Exchange Tasks" and followed the wizard to move the mailbox to our Exchange 2003 server. Everything seemed to go fine. I had already moved about twenty of the mailboxes over the past month, and there have been no problems. However, with this mailbox, the user is constantly "disconnecting" from the 2003 server. If I go into her "mail" properties and look at the setup for her Exchange, It is reflects the old server's name, instead of the new server. I can change the setting to the new server, close the "mail" applet and then go into outlook and it will say it can't connect to the folders. If I look at the settings in Outlook, about half of the time it will say the name of the OLD server as my mail server. The other half of the time, it will reflect the correct name. Somehow, this settings keeps getting changed! I have completely removed the user from the computer, reset her profile and re-attached to the new server. It immediately downloaded her emails, and worked fine for about thirty minutes. I came back and it showed "disconnected".I said all that to ask, "Is there some mailbox repair facility that might help?". I have not had a lot of trouble with mailboxes (thankfully) so I haven't had to troubleshoot these type issues, but it is certainly strange. I'm open to any suggestions.
