I have a user who wishes me to set up a forwarding rule to forward all email from one mailbox (mailbox 1) to another (mailbox 2). However, he wants some sort of marker/message applied to the emails so that they are distinguishable as emails from mailbox 1. I am using Exchange 2007. I can set the basic auto-forward but I was wondering if it is possible to do what is required server side or whether it will need to be a server/client side combo? Thanks.

Hi, It is possible to set the auto-forward, which can be achieved only through transport rule in Exchange 2007. If you want to distinguish between sending emails and forwarding emails, you can add a specific subject with the string. You can refer to the following detail steps: Go to EMC->Organization Configuration->Hub Transport->open Transport Rules to the middle tab->click New Transport Rule to the right part->select ‘sent to people’ in step 1 of Conditions->edit the people value in step 2->click Next->Select ‘copy the message to addresses’ in step 1 of Actions->edit the address value in step 2->select ‘prepend the subject with string’ in step 1 of Conditions->edit the string value in step 2->click Next->Click New Hope this helps.
