Services disabled by cancelled update - what do I need to restart?
Exchange 2007 SP1, applying the latest rollup update, during theday (shouldn't have), users lost connection, I tried to cancel update, itrolled back I think, said OK. Users still had no connection, I restarted the server, when it came up all Exchange services were disabled. Like that was part of the update process, I didn't let it finish. I think I have the Exchange servicesI need reenabled and started, Outlook users are OK. But, OWA won't let melogon. Istart the URL in IE, OK the two usual Security Alerts. at the point I should get the OWA logon window My IE window is empty, with URL 'address'/owa/auth/logon.aspx?URL='address'/owa/&reason=0and down in the left corner it says "Done". So, does this help identify what's missing? Or, is there arepair utility to fix what's missing? Or just a list of what services should be running? Thanks.

Hi,Did you refer similar thread and helped you? You may need to install SP1 UR5 again since you have canceled it last time and before that just make sure that"c:\ExchangeSetupLogs" folder exists. If you can't find folder then create an empty folder and start installation. Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com

Hi, If the problem still persists after you reset OWA related virtual directory, then please check Exchange related services against the settings in article below. Exchange Server 2007 Roles and the RelatedServices As Amit said, you need to re-install rollup 5. Please download it fromhttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=652ED33A-11A1-459C-8FFE-90B9CBFE7903&displaylang=enand then open a command prompt run "Exchange2007-KB953467-x64.-EN.msp /lxv* c:\953467.log". Note: Please ensure that you have not customize OWA before you apply the update. If any error occur, please send 953467.log to Xiu Zhang for further research. Regards, Xiu

I would try to complete the roll up, however, I did have a similar problem and had to recreate the OWA virtual directory. Create new OWA Virtual Directory in the event of a roll up package being deployed there are instances where OWA will stop working. To resolve try the following: Remove-OwaVirtualDirectory "owa (default web site)" New-OwaVirtualDirectory -name "owa" -OwaVersion Exchange2007 -WebSiteName "Default Web Site"That's the exact command I used on mine, it's all default.BP
