Set as reply
Hi,Weare deployingEx2007SP1. We already have domain name "xxx.com" and basic setup running on it. We recently got new domain name "yyyy.com".As i know that, if i make necessary changes in to Accepted domain & Email Policy, and modifying the "Set as reply" to yyyy.com domain, users sending emails out, their smtp address will be user@yyyy.comwe have tested it and works fine.but problem is, my mgmt wants, even if, when someone (outside the company using diff email system, lets say Yahoo)gets email from that user with smtp details will beuser@yyyy.com(due to set as reply policy on server), thatuser should have the liberty to choose from ID in a manner that if that someone clicks on "reply" button on his mailbox client, automatically, it will catch up user@xxx.com and not the user@yyyy.com . This should work even if at server, set as reply is for user@yyyy.com ids.sounds complicated to me but i can explain.thanks,-raj

Hey Raj,Natively it is not possible in Exchange but if you think out-of-box then you may need to create extra mailbox/mail enabled public folder for additional smtp address (user@xxx.com) to send from and give send-as permission to main user account (which has user@yyy.com smtp address) on this extra mailbox/mail enabled public folder. But user needs to manage both mailboxes or can set forwarder, but while replying/forwarding he/she needs to select the address each and every time to manage properly.Or you may need to use some third party utility which allows choosing any SMTP address regardless to primary/secondaryhttp://www.ivasoft.biz/choosefrom2007.shtmlSimilar thread you can look at..: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvradmin/thread/1040e63c-75e4-4824-b92b-931e47086bb3Amit Tank || MVP - Exchange || MCITP - Exchange 2007 || http://ExchangeShare.WordPress.com
