Setting up auto reply on exchange 2007
Hi, I've got an email account that needs to send an auto reply to every email itreceives. Now I've tried out of office assistant, but that only send the OOF once (i.e. if the user emails a second time, not OOO isreceived). I've tried setting up a rule that tells the server to reply to all mailreceivedwith a specific message. But found this only ever worked when someone with an exchange email account sent an email, however people using a unix based system would notreceivean automatic reply. A then tried setting up a rule that replies to every message with a template. Now this replies to any email that comes through, be it exchange based or unix based, but doesn't reply to every email all the time and it requires the client that has the rule set up, to always be running, which is not ideal at all... So is there anyway to get an auto reply sorted that replies to every email sent in every time no matter the origin, protocol etc... Thanks Alex

In Exchange 2007 you can make use of Transport rules which will serve the purpose of auto response. see below as how to create the same. http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Transport-Rules-Exchange-Server-2007.html http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/12/431879.aspxVinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|

Hi, I think the Server rule on mailbox would have worked for all mails. Did you verify if Auto reply is enabled on "Default" Remote Domain in your Org? (I assume that you have full access on your Exchange Systems) Get-RemoteDomain -id "Default" | fl identity, AutoReplyEnabled Thanks.Vishal Ramnani | MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE Messaging | MCTS - Win 2008 Config

Hi,If we use transport rule to "send bounce message to sender", then the original email will not be delivered to the recipient. So it is hard to use transport rule to achieve the goal.Besides, you can try to use outlook rule.Regards,Xiu
