Setup for Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 RPC/HTTPS with Barracuda SSL VPN?
I want to set up this feature with Exchange Server 2003, that allows "Outlook with RPC/HTTPS mode enabled which allows you to connect to your Exchange Server from an Outlook 2003 client in native mode using the Barracuda SSL VPN". I have the directions for the Barracuda box and the Outlook client, but they assume "the Exchange administrator has already configured the Exchange server to accept RPC calls over HTTP". How do I do that? I have used this before at another company and it works great, ie: no VPN client needed on the laptop to access you Exchange server from the Internet. Thanks if anyone can help. The concept of RPC over https came only for eliminating VPN connectivity. You do not reuires VPN for accessing your mailbox through RPC over https now formely known as outlook anywhere. I hope this will clear your doubt.

Hi Mike,Per your description, some users using the Barracuda SSL VPN connect to your internal network, and want to use outlook 2003 client in native mode. Right? If this scenario, you can directly configure the client to use the outlook client native mode without using ROH, because, the client throgh VPN connect to your internal work, would work as an internal client, and could catch the exchange server record through the internal dns server, in this client could directly use RPC Protocol. And if the client on the internet, and if you have publish the ROH service to the internet and configure the ROH proxy properly, it could directly using ROH to connect to the exchange server without VPN.Regards!gavin

I configured the Barracuda box according to the directions by they assume "but they assume "the Exchange administrator has already configured the Exchange server to accept RPC calls over HTTP". I don't know how to do that. So it is still not working.I can't seem to turn this damn underline off either......:-(Mike
