Shared Mailbox Security issue
Dear all, My environment here use a lot of shared mailbox function (either using OWA / Outlook). Some shared mailbox have 10-15 member had right permission to send-as and access it. Some of our manager concern about security when we use shared mailbox.Such as, we cannot know, who is sent using shared mailbox and also, we cannot track who is delete the item in that mailbox. So, I'm search for other alternative that we can use for same function as shared mailbox but with security that we can monitor who doing this and who sent this. It's there any information that you all can share with us? Thanks.carckermania

System Center Operations Manager..you cannot track that kind of security using exchange and as per my knoledge there is no other way to acomplish this goal...so you will need another solution like SCOM..that solution can track who opens a mailbox and what happens with the mailbox...CapecolMCSA - MCTS Exchange Server 2007 - 2010

I believe the mailbox auditing that came with Exchange 2007 SP2 would enable the kind of auditing you want.If you have this version/SP, and want to try this, do not set the auditing level to Highest. There is a bug that causes loss of email item attachments and possible calendar item corruption if you set it to the highest level.
