Single Email address for entire organization
Hi, We have a situation where we need to give an external organization the ability to send an email to everyone within our company. We are currently running Exchange 2007. What's the best way to go accomplish this? I can set up a query based distribution group and assign it an email address, but is there a way to lock this so that only message from the external organizations domain will be accepted? If I open that email for the entire internet, then that's opening a pretty big spam hole for our organization. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Blair

Is it just a few source addresses from the external company? if so you could create a contact for the source address(es), then in the mailflow properties of the group select "only accept messages from" and specify the contact you created. If we are talking about thousands of source addresses, it may be wise to setup a partner edge/ht connection.

Hi, We can create a transport rule to leverage this issue. Please expand Organization Configuration in EMC, locate Hub Transport, in the Transport Rules tab, right click the blank area, click New Transport Rule, specify the name, click Next, select sent to a member of distribution list option, specify the query that you created. Click Next, select send bounce message to sender with enhanced to sender with enhanced status code or silently drop the message option, click Next, select except when the From address contains specific words option, input the name of the external address. Click Update. After that, please check this issue. To better understand the Transport rule, please view the instruction from the link below: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb421708(EXCHG.80).aspx Thanks Allen
