This is the same post which i have posted under Lync Server  ,  Lync  >  Lync 2010 and OCS - Presence and IM( https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/08b2aabf-e0aa-4630-856d-1c7020c8ee7e/skype-for-business-compatibility-with-office-2010?forum=ocspresenceim ).

Skype for business update released in April 2015, KB2889923, doesn't seem to be working with Office 2010 SP2.

Can somebody please shed some light on the Skype for business update perquisites for Office

Please note the reply of AlxIvanov, >>Office 2013 SP1 is prereq for S4B update otherwise you will get error The expected version of the product was not found on the system.<<

And the blog of April 2015 Office Update Release, aslo said >>NOTICE:  Support for Microsoft Office 2013 RTM has ended.  Starting with the April 2015 release, all Office 2013 updates will only apply if Office 2013 SP1 is installed.<<

Thanks Emi. BTW we have shorted this issue and you are right we need SP1 to be installed as Lync 2013 is the part of office 2013.
