Smartphones and Exchange
Background:I am a new tech that works for a company that offers onsite support for its clients. I am also a one man show. Nobody here knows anything about exchange. I have inherited several networks that contain Exchange servers that I did not setup. Several of our clients are getting new smartphones that they want me to setup so they can get their email, contacts and calendar on their phones.Problem:I set up the phones with the OWA address (123.124.34.57/exchange), enter the username and password they use to log into OWA, but then it asks me for the mailserver domain name.Question:if my AD domain is MYCOMPANY.LOCAL and my Exchange server's name is MAIL.MYCOMPANY.LOCAL what is the name I enter in the domain field on the phone? I know that Exchange can have different internal and external names, but I can't figure out where to go to find this information within Exchange. Please help me. I am an Exchange NOOB.Thanks,CDBurner

Hi, You must use the name that is known in the public DNS for OWA clients. For example webmail.company.com (don'tadd the /exchange directory). Leif

Hi, What is the name I enter in the domain field on the phone? It should be your domain name, but not Exchange Server name. If you would like setup ActiveSync account, you can refer to the following article: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/01/30/447971.aspx Hope this helps. Thanks, Elvis
