Static DSAccess server assignment
We installed Exchange 2007 in our network several months ago. At that time all of our DCs were 2000 so we installed a single 2008 DC/GC prior to installing Exchange. We then installed a 2008 member server on which we installed Exchange. Since all of our DCs were 2000 exept the one 2008, we statically configured DSAccess. A Microsoft technician helped us with this and I can't remember the commands. We have recently added additional 2008 DC/GCs, moved the roles from the original 2008 DC/GC and then decommissioned it. We still have several 2000 DC/GCs that I'm wanting to prevent Exchange from attempting to use. I was wanting to view the statically configured settings and then modify those settings for the new 2008 DC/GCs. However, when Iuse the command "Get-ExchangeServerExchangeServerName -Status | FL *", I get all of settings listed but none of them list the name of the original 2008 DC/GC.Am I using the correct command to view statically assigned DSAccess settings for Exchange 2007?If so, why am I not seeing the statically assigned server listed? Was it removed when I demoted the server?Since we still have several old 2000 DC/GCs, do I need to statically configure DSAccess? If so, what command(s) should I use?

Hi,Check the EMC and right click on the organizational configuration or server configuration and select the option modify configuration domain controller and check which server is configured there. Regards,Johanblog: www.johanveldhuis.nl

This will show you the signed/excluded domain controllers and globalcatalog servers:Get-ExchangeServer -status |fl static*,current*Maybe the MS guy used the "StaticExcludedDomainControllers" instead ofpopulating the other properties?---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP--- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Please run below command to see if StaticDomainController was ever used. Get-ExchangeServer -identity E2K7-1.contoso.com -status | fl Name, StaticExcludedDomainControllers If you want to remove the changes that you have made, and revert to the default behavior of Exchange, type the following command at the Exchange Management Shell prompt, and then press ENTER: Set-ExchangeServer -identity E2K7-1.contoso.com -StaticExcludedDomainControllers:$null Refer Below http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298879 Vinod |CCNA|MCSE 2003 +Messaging|MCTS|ITIL V3|
