Hello, we are starting to implement quotas on our users, we ran into a little problem. We want to cap them at 1GB, for now we want to notify anyone that is over 1GB using warnings, but after SP1 the only way to do that is for the users to be at 50% or over of the prohibit send quota. Theproblem with that is that when they get the warning, it tells them their cap is 2GB not 1GB. These are the settings we have for now, issue warning at 1GB, phoibit send at 2GB. The other problem I see if there are a few users that have over 2GB then they will be prohibited to send. We eventually want to enforce this, but need to give users about a month of notice and time to clear their email Thanks.

Start by setting the quotas in steps, with the first phase being to set them high enough that you won't start blocking email for the largest mailboxes, but they do start getting warnings. Then as they clean them up, start ratcheting the quota settings down regularly until they're down to where you want them.[string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

Evan Liue, thanks for the link, I have been through those articles, but do not see anything regarding custom messages and variables. My guess at this point is that is not supported. I want to send notice including the current message size but not the send prohibit size. Thanks,

Hi dbomb01, A quota message is an e-mail message that's automatically sent by Microsoft Exchange to the owners of a mailbox or a public folder when a size limit (called a storage quota) for the mailbox or public folder is exceeded. You can use the New-SystemMessage, Get-SystemMessage, Set-SystemMessage, and Remove-SystemMessage cmdlets in the Exchange Management Shell to view built-in quota messages or to create, view, modify, or remove customized quota messages. You can know more detail from this document: Understanding Quota Messages http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232173.aspx Thanks, Evan Liu TechNet Subscriber Support in forum If you have any feedback on our support, please contact tngfb@microsoft.com

Hi dbomb01, Yes, you cannot put the variables on the custom messages. The only you can is to create a message with custom Text information, you can know more detail from the document I given in my last post.
