Storage replacement in CCR Cluster
Hi All,
Due to performance issue, We have plan to replace storage for our CCR passive node. Currently its connected with MSA 2324 and will move to EVA. I am confident to carried
out this activity but want to check if anyone some more advise to do it.
Any good suggestion is appreciated.

Youre moving to an EVA to improver performance?
Anyway, I would do one of two things.
1. Present LUNs up from the EVA and then re-locate the stores to the new location by using the Exchange GUI.
2. Present LUNs up from the EVA, create new stores and then do a bunch of mailbox move operations.
Choice 1 is for if you have an outage window. Choice 2 is for if you have no such window and have to move mailboxes one by one so that you only impact one user at a time.
Since youre using CCR the best solution is probably (1) because you can do it on the passive node by suspending replication, rejiggering the paths, moving the data and then resuming replication. Choice (2) would be a long-winded drag.

I am moving storage which is connected to passive node, So for me it not looking so complex as you said above ?. My plan is below.
1: Stop replication from active node
2: Delete volume from passive node and un present current LUN
3: Present LUN from EVA and make directory path as it was before
4: Seed SG

One more thing, if Im not mistaking, when u stop the replication u wont be able to delete the volumes, u will have to also stop the exchange services on the passive node and then do the procedure u wrote. We did the same procedure as u, and we had that issue.

You are going to isolate the storage from the application by stopping replication and stopping the services. Then you are going to change what disks your mount points / letters point to, move the data and then restart everything. At the end of the job
the application wont see any difference, nor will the OS. Only you will know that the E:\ drive (for example) now points to a different LUN. Then you fail-over the CCR and do it all over again.
Tell me, did HP or the reseller even bother to give you advice on this? This is really, really basic stuff to them and, since I work for a storage vendor I can say this, they should really have walked you through this and the steps you need to do in order.
I know, I do it for customers!
Seems like HP or the VAR have cast you adrift a bit here.
