Strange Public Folder behavior
I have a Public Folder structure with a folder with two shared calendars and two shared contacts beneath. Recently, one of the shared calanders will not allow the creation of new appointments. I have checked and rechecked the client permissions on this calendar. Not even the domain administrator account can create an appointment on this calendar. There is no problems creating objects within the other shared calendars and contacts. Here is where it gets interesting, a user can create an appointment via Outlook 2003 RPC over HTTP cached mode, but the appointment never appears on the server. It cannot be seen via OWA or from another user's Outlook. When trying to create an appointment via OWA, I get two error messages. The first time I try to save the appointment I get "The action can't be performed." Then each subsequeint time I try to save the appointment, I receive "You don't have permission to perform this action." As I have stated earlier, I have gone through the client permissions using the ESM. The domain administrator account is set as an "Owner" for this calendar in addition to being an Exchange Full Administratorand and cannot create appointments. My Exchange Organization consists of 6 Exchnage Servers. 3 Frontend Servers and 3 Backend Servers. All Public Folders are replicated to all 3 backend servers. The public folder stores have been removed from the frontend servers. All Servers are Exchange 2003 SP2 Native Mode with the latest Exchange updates. In addition, the AD Forest and Domain are 2003 R2 Native Mode. Any clue as to what is going on would be greatly appreciated. Looney13

Have you used the PFDAVAdmin tool before. It will check the permissions and fix any issue it finds. Great tool for all your public folder needs http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=635be792-d8ad-49e3-ada4-e2422c0ab424&DisplayLang=en I hate the way system manager treats public folders..

Using PFDAVAdmin, all the permissionsare correct. I even did a "Repair Roldes," "Fix folder DACLs," and "Check for item-level permissions." Still cannot create a new appointment in this calendar. Thanks, Looney13

I have fixed the issue. It was a size limit causing the problem.
