Strange behavior with messages from a listserv
We have just implemented Exchange 2007 sp1 and are in the process of migrating users there from another mail system. We are seeing strange behavior with mails sent to an external listserv as they come back into Exchange. Here is the scenario: User sends a mail to 2 groups on the listserv (groupA and groupB): 1 mail goes from Exchange with subject "test" ---> Listserv On listserv that mail is sent to the 2 groups, and User is a member of both groups. We see 2 messages leave the listserv, addressed to that User with subjects "(groupA) test" and "(groupB) test" . 2 messages come through our Edges and Hubs and I see 2 messages make it to the message store (via message tracking). The User only sees one copy of the message - for example "(groupB) test". This happens for any user. Is there some setting that may be consolidating smiilar messages into 1? We are still new to all of this so any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

The messageID would be the same, it's possible this is causing one to get dropped to avoid duplicate messages. If you are actually seeing both messages getting submitted into the store then I do a full search of the mailbox to see if it is being tagged and moved, i.e. junk e-mail.
