Hi I have had a problem for more than 6 months now. It's beginning to annoy me quite a bit... In my Outlook 2007, which is connected to a Windows SBS 2003 Exchange server, an inboxsubfoldercalled Maskinnet suddenly disappeared. I know that it still exists, because I cannot create a new folder using that same name. However, the only place in all of Outlook where I can find the folder, is in account settings, where I have a POP3 account set to save new mails into the Maskinnet subfolder. Everywhere else (export guide, folder properties, etc.) it's gone. When I use OWA, there's a + next my inbox, but when I click on it, it just disappears and no subfolder is shown. I have lots of mails in the folder (i think... ), so I would really like to be able to open it again. I can search the folder by searching in all mails. New mails can be read through the search folder, Unread mail. But I can't access the folder in normal ways. I have tried cached mode, online mode, OWA, Vista x86, Vista x64 and (afair) XP. Same problem not matter what. I hope that someone in hereis able to help me. Alternatively, maybe I can somehow read the mails out of the .ost file, delete and recreate my account on the server and import everything to a clean, functional environment... Have you ever used the MFCMAPI tool available from the Exchange Server 2003 downloads page? It is NOT for the feint of heart, but if you are careful, you can use it to navigate down through the mailbox in "raw" mode. I am wondering if MFCMAPI can see the folder inside your mailbox.

No, I did not know that tool. And yes, it looks like you can do some serious damage using it.But now it all works! I could see the folder in the tool and found an option with a name including the word "hidden". This option was set to True, so I tried setting it to false, closed MFCMAPI, started Outlook, and now the folder is there and working, including all mails from before and after the hiding. So easy... So apparently, the folder suddenly felt shy and wanted to hide away for some time. Thank you so very much! :-) -Asbjrn
