Suppressing Email id's from the To Address Bar
Hi All, I wanted to Know is there a way to suppress the email id's in To Address Bar in such a way that it display's only the recipient name and rest will be suppressed. We are sending bulk emails to the clients using SMTP. But one client has problem saying all the recipient names are displayed in the To Address Bar. But it wants only the receiver should see his email id not others. Should client has to make any server setting changes. So that the recipient name is displayed. Please suggest (Other than sending in Bcc). Thanks in advance.

You cannot control the recipients mail client. If you put all the addresses on the To line, then they're available for them to see. If you don't want to use BCC, and don't want them to see the other addresses, send them as individual emails, one to each recipient.

The Bulk emails which are sent out using SMTP is not pointing either To, Cc or Bcc.

In the SMTP conversation, what is in the To: field of the emails you are sending? That's what is going to be in the To: line of the email that the recipient receives. You cannot send email via SMTP without a To: line.

Hi,If all the recipient are internal user, then it will use the display name in "To". Because we can resolve the email address to the display name.If recipient is external, then it will display the whole email address in "To".Regards,Xiu

Hi,As per my Experience if you send a email with suppose 10 recipients in the To field all the reipients will be able to view the other recipients in the mail. There is no option to change this behavior so that the recipient only see's his email address. The only option to achieve this would be to send seperate emails to all recipients or sending mail with reipients in BCC which you are already aware.Mahendra
