Sync Persoal Contacts to Global address list
Hello, I am needing to create an address list on an exchange server that will dynamically update a total of seven peoples personal contacts list so it can be accessed by our marketing person. I still need to keep the original contacts lists intact as personal address lists of individual users. How do I go about setting this up? Is there a way that I can simply create links that would allow my marketing person to access the links from the individual address books? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated, Thanks, Brad Yeutter

You cannot update people's contact lists. Have you thought about using a Public Folder to hold the contacts so they can be shared? Missy

You could create a public folder with contacts item and share this contacts to marking team. You could update the contacts information dynamically. You also could create seven personal contacts and send these contacts to marking people. Thanks, RichardYour expertise never fails to impress :)

Thank You Missy, Yes I have thought about using a public folder for our marketing people to access. However, the people who's contacts lists would be populating this folder are concerned about having to wade through everyone elses contacts if we do it this way. We want to keep their individual contacts lists intact for them but have a master list of all seven peoples contacts that stays dynamically updated for our marketing person. Is this possible using a shared public folder? Thanks, Brad

Hi Brad, Unfortunately there's no way to do exactly what you want using a public folder or any other method within Exchange. My suggestion would be to have each person maintain their own contacts and then, when they add a contact, have them then select the contact and use the "copy item to..." functionality within Outlook to copy the contact to the public folder. It's certainly not an elegant solution, but it could work. There are other alternatives, like using an additional (shared) mailbox to hold the contacts that need to be shared, but that has the same restrictions as a PF would. Missy
