System32
I've download a "Program"(not porn) a while back which started to mess up my computer.I have to force Windows explorer to restart because it often freezes. The problem seams to originate from system32 since Symantec has detected several virus in the folder.I get annoying pop-ups for Anti-Virus 2008/2009, but I haven't actauly downloaded either. With Symantec on; the pop-ups have stopped, but it continues to detect viruses in system32.Occasionally(every few hours) it shows a pop-up that says "Windows host Process(Rundll32) has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is availble".I bought my computer with Vista already installed in it so I can't redownload it. I had no clue where to put this thread in so I just picked one that looked populated.

It looks to me like you have a few choices.
Choice 1: Scan your pc with real scanning software. don't run Anti-Virus 2008/2009 (its spyware).
Scan with Symantec
download the Microsoft malicious removal tool here.
download security updates for Vista
Do you have windows defender?
Try Advast (free and good); comes with U3 thumb drives or at their web site.
Run spybot search & destroy (Free), also good.
Choice 2: Restore / reinstall
Load a previous restore point. (Click start Programs\Accessories\System Tools and click system restore.
Did Cds come with your pc, if not you can prob get one from the manufacturer.
If this doesn't work, I know more dangerous ways to fix it.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now
