Table of Contents and List of Figures links to wrong path

I am working on a document that is spread out over 14 files. File1 contains the Table of Contents, List of Figures, and List of Tables. At one point I had copied these files from a server to a local directory, worked on one file a little bit, then copied them back to a new server directory. I never did an "Update Field" at the local directory location.

When I do an "Update Field" on any of the above lists at the server location, I get error messages for each of the other 13 files saying the file could not be found. This is because these files are linking to my local directory path where the files no longer exist. How do I update the path to the new server directory so "Update Field" can find the other files?

Hi,

Did you mean that the all 14 files are all save on the server?  If not, then how about update the file locally, then save the finally file to the server?
