The Recipients field in message tracking is empty
I have a Hub transport server and Single copy cluster (mailbox servers) in my exchange organization. Message tracking on a Hub Trunsport server works ok, but message tracking on mailbox cluster has a problems. Field "Recipients" is emptyin all messages. Is it normal? How can I fix it?

Hi, It should be by design. I have tested it in my lab and found that when we set sender value and then had message tracking on mailbox server, recipient column in the Message Tracking Result is empty. Besides, if you run get-messagetrackinglog on mailbox server, you will find that the recipient column fill with {} We recommend you to use Message Tracking Tools or perform message tracking cmdlt on Hub Transport Role. More information share with you: How to Configure Message Tracking http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997984(EXCHG.80).aspx Hope it helps. Xiu

But what if both sender and recipient mailboxes arein a same mailbox database (I mean internal traffic)? Will the message go to transport server? Ibelieve it will stay on a mailbox server. Is not it? If it will stay, how can I see its tracking on a hub server?

Hi, On Hub Transport servers, the Store driver sends and receives messages to and from Mailbox servers within the local Active Directory Site. On Mailbox servers, the Microsoft Exchange Mail Submission service is used to select a Hub Transport server to notify that a message is ready for delivery. So we can understand that local delivery is the process by which a message is transferred from a Hub Transport server to a mailbox on a Mailbox server in the same Active Directory site. Besides, please use "Route Log Viewer" from Toolbox to check the routing topology.(Open EMC-Toolbox-Route Log Viewer-File-Open) Hope it helps. Xiu
