The land of a hundred domain names...Exchange 2010 on MS Server 2008 (64x)
Hello everyone, This is my first ever exchange server installation and I'm doing it alone so please bear with me. My main concern here beside the obvious and nebulous fact that email isn't working, is that I think I made an error in installation and created different domain names. The situation is as follows. 1. The Server where exchange was installed is a virtual server. Our website is "examplesite.com" and is hosted on a separate server. MX records have been set to point to our IP address using: "mail.examplesite.com" I have tested this and it works. 2. The (full) computer name is "ABC.Name2.examplesite.com" 3. The domain that I chose to use for outlook was Name2.examplesite.com (thinking I had successfully changed the computer name to "Name2" only) 4. There is no firewall 5. When email gets bounced back due to an unknown recipient it reports that a server called "Name2.examplesite.com" has responded (which I thought was great, because that's my mail server name!). Problem is that I have no idea how to access the mail or even know if it is getting delievered at all. I have no idea if any of it is functioning! I did try to use the OWA interface but it won't send or receive and only the internal link works. Can anyone shed some light on how I might go about accessing the email and what info I'd use? Also, there are 2 connectors set up but I didn't make them - does exchange put these up automatically?

Sounds like you didnt created the accepted domain and email address policy to accept email for name2.examplesite.com. The article below goes over, its virtually the same step for 2010.
