Tool to reduce mailboxes to fixed size? reccomendations?
The company I work for asked me to "trim" their single 270+gb exchangeIS down to a manageble sizeonour singleexchange 2003 enterprise server prior to upgrading toan exchange 2007 clustered environment. I would like to do soby using an 3rd party or msproduct (such as a mail archiver), utility or process. Can someone reccomend a mail archiver, tool or process toreduce current mailbox sizes ofx number of mailboxes to 1gb, y to 500mb and z mailboxes to 250mb (just as an example). Basically itneeds to cut mailboxes down to a specified size then leave the archived mail items available to userson seperate storage - preferablynot in a sql database.
I could use exmerge but I don't think that will help me get the mailbox down to a particular size. Also reviewed GFI languard but as far as I can tell it won't work under a exchange 2007 clustered environment which is what we will be moving to in less than a month. Also I could break up the single IS into multiple IS, which I will probably do anyway but it still leaves with with the need for an archiving product, tool or process.
Any infoorreccomendations would be greatlyappreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
