Track Changes Feature in Outlook 2003 Grayed Out
I have several users in a Microsoft Exchange server environment who would like to be able to use the Track Changes feature in Outlook 2003. However, that button on the reviewing toolbar is greyed out. All the other track changes buttons are available. In researching this, I found one response that said it might be a group policy issue that restricts the use of this feature, but we do not have any group policies in place here. How does this feature get enabled/disabled? We are using Word as our Outlook editor andtrack changes works fine in Microsoft Word.

Hi,
This only works on Word documents, not messages composed using Word as the Message Editor.
First please ensure that you have tick Microsoft Word as editor.
Note: Tools->Options->Mail Format->Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages
After that please ensure that you have tick Add properties to attachments to enable Reply with Changes.Note: Tools->options->Preferences->email options->Advanced Email option->"Add properties to attachments to enable Reply with Changes."

Hi Xiu,
I am having the same issue as described in the original posting and have followed your suggested solution. Unfortunately this has not resolved the problem as the track changes button is still greyed out.FYI, I have checked both settings you've described with the first already set correctly and the secondthat Idid have to add thetick.Any further thoughts/help would be appreciated.Regards,Tim Ellis
