Transport rule and groups
I created a group called "disclaimerA" and add a few users to it. I then created a transport rule to append a disclaimer when sent from anyone in that group. I enabled it, tested it and all is well. The issue is when I add someone new to that group they are not getting the disclaimer. I have waited for almost 2 hours and still nothing. Ideas?I just noticed something. I have 3 hub servers all in one site. Only users on 1 of the servers is getting the disclaimer. I believe that was the server I was on when I created the disclaimer as well.

Hi, I'd like to explain this behavior is by design. Please kindly review the following article:Understanding How Transport Rules Are Applied in an Exchange 2007 Organizationhttp://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124703.aspxAt the chapterTransport Rule Replication of this document, we could notice following explanation: Each Hub Transport server maintains a recipient cache that is used to look up recipient and distribution list information. The recipient cache reduces the number of requests that each Hub Transport server must make to an ActiveDirectory domain controller. The recipient cache updates every four hours. You can't modify the recipient cache update interval. Therefore, changes to transport rule recipients, such as the addition or removal of distribution list members, may not be applied to transport rules until the recipient cache is updated. To force an immediate update of the recipient cache, you must stop and start the MicrosoftExchangeTransport service. You must do this for each Hub Per above statement, we could get following points:1. Addition or removal of distribution list members, is NOT applied to transport rules until the recipient cache is updated2. The recipient cache is updated every 4 hours3. The update interval cannot be modified4. To enforce an immediate update, we need to restart MSExchangeTransport service Hope this helps. Thanks, Elvis
