Trouble e-mailing distro groups inside of distro groups
Good morning,
We seem to be having trouble e-mailing items to distro groups contained inside of a master distro group. I am in the beginning states of troubleshooting this issue. Any ideas on where to look or if this behavior has been reported before?
We are running Exchange 2010 and the e-mail is being generated from an in-house application running out of SQL so I'm assuming, pre-troubleshooting, it is sending the e-mail inside of SQL (running SQL 2008).Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15

Check Message tracking. Ensure all the nested and master groups are universal groups.

Andy,
Verified that nested, and master, groups are Universal Security groups. Also, message tracking verified that only the individual addresses in the master listing are being sent the e-mail.Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15

You dont see the expansion of the DLs in message tracking? (EXPAND in the Message tracking)
Do you have an expansion server defined on any of those groups?
You may also want to run the tests in the toolbox under Mail FLow Troubleshooter

I do not see any DL expansion in message tracking.
I am not sure, we only have one Exchange server on premise that we utilize.
When I try to run tests in the Mail Flow Troubleshooter, I receive the following message:
Mail Submission failed: error message: The SMTP host was not specified.
I am not sure where to specify the SMTP host though the addresses in the test DL are internal addresses.

Really dumb question: Can you see the nested DLs in EMC or Powershell?
Can you modify them and save them via the Exchange 2010 tools?

And if you send directly to those nested DLs instead of the parent DL, does it work?

When I send to the nested DLs themselves, the e-mail is received OK.Thanks, God bless! Michael C. | Using Win 7, IE9, CRM 4.0 - Rollup 15
