Trying to add a new Organization to an existing Exchange 2003 environment
Hello everyone, My company consists of four offices (1 Exch 2003 server per office) all under a single, mixed mode AD domain. I am trying to add a 5th Exch server to the domain but I would like to add a second Exch Organization to my Exch environment. Can I do this? When I install Exch 2003 on my Windows 2003 server I am not given the option to add a new Exch Organization and my new server is automatically installed under the existing Exch Organization. Any thoughts? Thanks

This is not possible. You can have only One exchange Organization in one Forest. and One organization can only span one Forest So the only option you have is to create a new forest if you need to have an additional organization This doc explains organizations and forest options (Exchange 2007 but also applies to Exchange 2003) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123901.aspx Deli

Is that one Exchange Organization per forest or per domain? If my forest/tree had a few distinct domains? Would all of my Exch servers still have to be under the same Organization?
