where the "*" (stars) are the text of table one (as you can see it has two rows and one column) and "table2" is the second table (one row and one column) table smack in the middle of table one
If I'm understanding this right, you should just be able to merge the cells above and below in excel, then import it (or copy and paste it), but if that isn't what you want then I'm pretty sure you can't do what you want. You can create a table INSIDE another cell, but not in multiple cells as it appears you'd like to do.
Well, I made an image to show you, but I can't attach images until I'm "verified."
Sorry =/
I'm been trying all morning to no avail.. im looking to make a page that looks like this.. i guess the way would do it is with tables

See if this:-
- item number 214 gives you what you want.
The way I had it done up closest to what I believe you wanted:
Merged-
A1:D1, A2:D2, A3:D3
E1:H1, E2:H2, E3:H3
4D:4E, 5D:5E, 6D:6E, 7D:7E, 8D:8E
9A:9D, 10A:10D, 11A:11D
9E:9H, 10E:10H, 11E:11H
Shrink column B to be a spacing between your *****'s and the left side of table 2 cells. Use column B's same width for column G.
Shrink columns D and E to be half the width of columns C and F.
Then select 1A:3H and, depending on your version, right-click, go to "Format Cells..." then select "Border" and select "Outside" and "Inside."
Repeat for 4A:8A, 4H:8H, 9A:11H
Then select 4C:8F, right-click, "Format Cells..." then "Border" and I'd think you'd want a clear difference between the tables, so click under "Line" "Style" a thicker line, then click "Inside" and "Outside."
That should be enough to get you going onto what you want.
Good luck!
thanks for the reply! i see where your going with this but i want the table on the right to be one cell , the table on the left to be one cell and the table in the middle to be a third cell so that each cell has its own content of writing
the fox jumped over today is a good day and
the rive the fox jumped tomorrow will be even better
over the river *this is cell number 3 and* today is a good day and
the fox jumped *it is its own. this is cell * tomorrow will be even
over the river *number 3 and it is its own* better. today is a good day
the fox jumped over the tomorrow will be even better. today is a good

You could start with a three-column table and then merge the cells above and below where you want the third cell so that those rows only have two columns. Finally, merge the cells for the third (middle) column so that multiple rows become one.
See three stages below:
Stage 1 - 3-column table
Stage 2 - Merge columns above center so that 3-column rows become 2-column rows. Copy these below the three-column area and delete 3-column rows at bottom.
Stage 3 - Merge the cells in the middle column so it becomes one big cell.
