Trying to understand the multiple connections to the Address Book on the CAS

So, here is the issue...

We have created two regional hubs, UK and US, and all the remote sites are in cached mode Outlook 2007.  Hub sites are running Exchange 2010 SP2 RU6.  UK site is behind a Kemp VL-1000 LB and the US hub is single server so no LB.

The problem i am seeing is our Riverbeds are maxing out their connections.

When i look into this at the client level i am seeing multiple (6+) connections to the  AB port, as defined statically.

Is this by design?

Is this a client issue?

When i test on my Outlook 2013 client, i see only one connection.  When i test with a 2007 client i see multiple.

Hope someone can shed some light here!

Thanks

That looks like http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2544404/en-gb which is from 2011.

Can you please update to the latest cumulative update for Outlook 2007, and re-test ?

I have upgraded the client to SP3 on 2007 and this has not helped at all.  I still six connections to the AB port, as statically defined.

Thanks
