Sorry for being brief. I'm looking for some suggestions for implementing a two-factor authentication solution for ActiveSync that will work with Androids, iPhones, etc. We will eventually like this for OWA as well.

After doing some research I was only able to find certificate based authentication as a workable solution.

Yes, that's the only solution, but unfortunately, not supported by all mobile platforms. Some Android devices support it, some not. iPhones should support certificate based authentication.

There are solutions that enables you to use 2-FA with both ActiveSync and OWA for Android, Iphone and Window Phones etc. Take a look at PointSharp Mobile Gateway.
