Unable to apply Exchange 2007 SP3
Hi When I try to apply exchange 2007 sp3, I come up with sp3 setup screen and all three roles except unified messaging are already ticket and disabled. I can only tick the un-ticked and enabled unified messaging role which I don’t want on my sbs 2008 server. When I click on next, without ticking unified messaging, I get the message 'please select one or more server roles before continuing'. What is the problem and how can I apply sp3? Thanks Regards

Try running the upgrade from the cmd line instead, it always gives better detail in terms of upgrade or un-installation errors. Just run "setup.com /m:upgrade" from a command prompt at the location of the install files. Also check the Setup logs to see if there are any errors listed in there "C:\ExchangeSetupLogs", and check to see if you have any watermarks in your registry from failed or partially failed upgrades/installations. The watermark will be in the following location, HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\v8.0\<name of role>, if it is present then delete it and run the upgrade again. As always stop any anti-virus that is running, SCOM service and restart the remote registry service for good measure. If none of that helps, paste the error logs that you are getting and we can dig further.DJ Grijalva | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | www.persistentcerebro.com
