Regards, Xiu Hi Xiu,Thank you for the reply. The 2008 server just died and stopped working. I only simply reboot server, did not restore windows server2008. It was working fine after reboot. Only backup had problem. Exchange2007 was working properly. Besides, the server2008 (64bit) Physical Merrory usage was always very high. The server had 4GB Memory (usage was always above 3.45 GB) Virtual Memory was set to 6GB to 8GB, adjust for best performance of Programs, only 20 mailboxs (30 GB data) and 40 GB public folder data on Exchange2007 server. The CPU usage was only 2-5%. Did this cause server crash problem?I found an article from here : http://blogs.technet.com/dhardin/archive/2009/10/21/vss-backup-using-windows-server-backup-on-exchange-server-2007-sp2-fails-when-lcr-or-scr-is-enabled.aspx which mentioned a method to solveBACKUP problem. Hi, With Exchange Sever 2007 sp2 and Windows Server 2008, we can use windows server backup. But please note that it does not support the Exchange Replica VSS Writer that is part of the Replication service. As a result, you cannot use Windows Server Backup to backup passive copies of storage groups. Using Windows Server Backup to Back Up and Restore Exchange Data http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee221172.aspx If all the exchange server roles are installed on one computer, then the Minimum per server memory configuration is 4GB. For mailbox server memory recommendations, we need to follow 2 GB plus 2MB per mailbox. Since we have LCR enabled, then we need install an additional 1GB. So 4GB is not enough. Besides, I think you can use Process Explorer to which exe has use high memory. Hi Xiu,I checked Event log. There was nothing in Event log when server2008 stopped working. But it happened at the time when scheduled backup started ( at that moment, LCR was turned on). The "store.exe" always used 3GB or more memory. Is it normal? I alreday turn off LCR. Thanks for your time.Regards,James

Hi,Since it is not supported to backup passive copies of storage groups, I recommend you to manually stop Replication services when you try to backup.For Store.exe ,it is absolutely normal for Store.exe to grab as much RAM on the server as it can possibly get - as long as Store thinks it needs it to optimize performance. Store was written to do so.
