Unable to download offline address book
HelloI have created a new offline address book which I would like some mailboxes to use instead of the Default Offline Address Book. The Default Offline Address book is configured for the database which the users belong to. However I have configured the MsexchOAB attribute on the users to point to the new offline address book.I understand this attribute change will override the Default Offline address book which is associated with the database. Is that correct?The problem I am having us that when I try to download the offline address book I get the following error: Task 'Microsoft Exchange' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found.'The clients are Outlook 2007 and Server Exchange 2007.Please can anyone help?Many ThanksMark

This error seems to indicate that the OAB that the mailbox "thinks" it is supposed to have actually can't be found. Personally, I don't like hard coding the OAB for the users since you then have to start "managing by exception".When you added the OAB name for these users, how did you configure it? Yes this right I used the set-mail command. I have checked the user Adsiedt and I can see the msexchuseoab is configured with the distinguised name of the offlineaddressbook assigned in the set-mailbox command.Is this correct?

H, Yes, you run the command correctly to have the user download new OAB instead of the Default OAB files. The error 0x8004010F means MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND. I agree with Jim that the issue may occur if the related OAB files cannot be found on the CAS server. Note: I assume that the same Outlook client is able to download default OAB files with no problem. Based on the current situation, I suggest you check: 1. Whether the new OAB files have been generated by the Exchange Mailbox server. By default, the Mailbox Server generates OAB files 5:00 AM every day. 2. Whether the OAB files have been copied to the Exchange CAS server. By default, the CAS pulls the OAB files every 12 hours 3. Whether the OAB files can be located in the Exchange CAS server (C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\OAB\new oab guid) You can check the Event log on the Exchange Mailbox server and Exchange CAS server for any error related to generate OAB or replicate OAB files.
