Unable to recieve external emails
Greetings all, firstly I am flying by the seat of my pants, its been a while that I last worked with Exchange, I hope you Pro's can help.. I have a customer that has requested an in house exchange server.theirdomain.com due to the file sizes of attachments they use. I have installed the exchange 2003 and I thought it was setup ok. I am trying to use a registered test domain before redirecting their email from the ISP. I created an account dummy@testdomain.com on the exchange server.theirdomain.com I have added the mx records at the ISP testdomain.com to point to the exchange server. If I telnet port 110 the exchange server replies. as does smtp. On the server I created , "dummy" account and I added the SMTP for testdomain.com . Also enabled the POP as some remote users will need this. On the internal DNS I added a MX record to point to the server. What happens, I setup off site, a POP account using Outlook, I can authenticate with a POP account to the server and can send and recieve tests,dummy@testdomain,com , I can also send an email to a different domain located at the same ISP.. test@otherdomains.com I can not send to a hotmail account , if I send too dummy@testdomain.com from hotmailI get this relay bounce below, if I try reply fromtest@otherdomains,com the dummy@testdomain.com never gets it. IReporting-MTA: dns;bay0-omc1-s14.bay0.hotmail.comReceived-From-MTA: dns;BAY124-W3Arrival-Date: Sun, 25 Mar 2007 17:20:02 -0700 Final-Recipient: rfc822;dummy@testdomain.comAction: failedStatus: 5.7.1Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 5.7.1 Unable to relay for dummy@testdomain.com I have been reading the Exchange guide, (well glancing at it ) but am a bit lost. If some one could point me in the right direction that would be great Thanks in advance, Barry
