So when you created it, you gave it a name, and chose type "internet"?  On the next screen, did you choose "MX record associated with recipient domain" or "route through smart host"?  Also, did you check the box for "Use the external DNS lookup settings on servers with transport rules"?  If you did, go back and uncheck that so your Exchange server uses internal DNS. For address space, is your domain listed as "*" and then your source server should be the name of your only Exchange server.  That should be it.  If you're using a smart host, then you need to check communication between your Exchange server and it, as well as it and out through your firewall.  Is port 25 open outbound through your firewall?  Are you receiving email from the outside, or is mail routing completely not working? Do you have an internal MX record in your DNS; if so, try deleting it.

And post back your results so we know if you fixed it or still need assistance.

Hi,

From your description, "554 5.4.4 SMTPSEND.DNS.MxLoopback; DNS records for this domain are configured in a loop", I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:

1. Set the MaxMessageSize parameter on the Receive Connector (which receives inbound mail from the Internet) to 10MB, so messages from the Internet are restricted to 10 MB.

2. Set the MaxMessageSize on the Send connector from Edge to HUB to 30MB, which will allow you to receive 30 MB messages from external senders.

Hope this can be helpful to you.

Best regards,
