Unable to start System Attendant
Hi Everyone, having problems starting my system attendant service on an exchange 2007 sp2 (176.2) mailbox server. When try and start the service, the following is logged in the application event log: Microsoft Exchange System Attendant is starting. Microsoft Exchange Server System Attendant, service startup complete, version 8.2 (build 217.2). Unexpected error Access is denied. Facility: Win32 ID no: c0070005 Microsoft Exchange System Attendant occurred. Microsoft Exchange System Attendant failed to start. I haven't seen much on the web on c0070005 and most of it seems to be to do with Exchange 2003. The service is set to start automatic as Local System. The server is not a DC and is in the main site. dcdiag and nltest respond correctly. NIC offloading is disabled. The log and database files are on local disk. The server exists in AD and is a member of Domain computers, exchange domain servers, exchange servers and Exchange Install Domain Servers The server is running server 2008 SP1. IPV6 is enabled. Anyone got any thoughts? Cheers.

Can you check if the time on all the DCs and the exchange are in Sync.

Thanks Raj. All are within a couple of seconds. I've tried to start it again this morning and it's now working. I wish I knew why.

Please describe the exchange topology
Please run ExBPA against the exchange server for permission check, see if there’s any related error info
