Uninstall Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1
I am running Exchange 2007 Standard on a Win 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition SP2. I am trying to get Granular backups with Symantec BU Exec 12.5 and I'm getting this error:Cannot log on to MAPI with the specified credentials. Review the resource credentials for the job, and then run the job again. This backup has been running successfully for about 7 months now with the same logon account so I know the logon account is set correctly.Symantec has offered two solutions that relate to this problem. One is to deselect and reselect theExchange Server Information Store which I have done and the problem still exists. I also checked and double checked the logon accounts. The other Symantec solution is to uninstall and reinstall theExchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1 from the Exchange Server. I need to know how to uninstall the MAPI before I reinstall it or, can it just be reinstalled?

Hi, The Messaging API is a COM-like API that provides access to the contents of messaging stores. CDO 1.2.1 (Collaboration Data Objects, version 1.2.1) is a package providing access to Outlook-compatible objects through a COM-based API. Using either CDO or MAPI, a program can connect to a MAPI store, and then perform operations against that store. Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=94274318-27c4-4d8d-9bc5-3e6484286b1f&DisplayLang=en So I think you can just download and then install it. Before you re-install Microsoft Exchange Server MAPI Client and Collaboration Data Objects 1.2.1, I recommend you to run the cmmdlt below to give full permission on the account that you used to perform backup. get-mailbox -database "Server\Storage group\Mailbox database" | add-mailboxpermission -user admin -accessright fullaccess -inheritancetype all" If the problem still persists, then I recommend you to contact Symantec Support to get relevant help.
