Uninstalling Exchange 2007 - Folder Replicas Error
I'm trying to remove Exchange 2007 which I was testing using our development system but have come across some errors during the uninstall process. The error message I receive is something like this: Error: Uninstall cannot continue. Database "Public Folder Database": The public folder database "SERVER\Second Storage Group\Public Folder Database" contains folder replicas...Now unfortunately i'm a) no exchange expert (i'm a .NET dev) and b) we dont use exchange for email - so I cant move folders to an alternative location. All I want to do is remove the software without bringing the network down again (I didn't realise removing a mailbox from exchange 07 removed the user account as well!).Thanks for your help,Matt

Run the Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlet using the Exchange Management Shell and examine the output. If the folders listed are no longer required, you can remove them by piping the results of the Get-PublicFolderStatisticscmdlet into the Remove-PublicFolder cmdlet:
Get-PublicFolderStatistics | Remove-PublicFolder
Once you've done this, re-run Get-PublicFolderStatistics and when no results are returned, you should find that this particular issue no longer prevents the uninstall of Exchange 2007.

haha yeah I wonder how many people will get caught out deleting a mailbox to find the AD account is gone too, and whats with the 'disable' its not disable it's delete! Anyway...A quick way is to delete the PF entry using adsiedit from the Server/Information Store from the config partition, which works well if you are in a hurry.. and in a test rig.

Actually thats not true...
Disabling a MAilbox will disconnect the Mailbox from the respective AD user object but not delete the AD object. Remove Mailbox willdisconnect the mailbox and delete the AD user object.
