Uninstalling Exchange 2010

Hi all,

We're moving away from Exchange and I had two quick questions about uninstalling Exchange 2010.

1.  Each Active Directory user has an Email attribute (which shows what the users' email address is).  That attribute won't go away when we uninstall Exchange will it?

2.  Exchange was used to create a lot of distribution lists, which are universal distribution groups in our domain.  Those won't get deleted when we uninstall will they?

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Hi

When you say moving away from exchange platform you are moving to a different messaging  platform ?

Can you say the reason to have the Email Attributes when you are moving from Microsoft Exchange ?

Are you trying to integrate the existing distribution groups to a different mailing system ?

Can you please tell little bit more information about your environment and your future messaging system in your org so that people over here would be able to help you further

Hi

The exchange attributes won't go away, even if you completely uninstall exchange server from your Active Directory. The same thing for your universal distribution groups, they will still exist after uninstalling exchange server.

But of course they have no more mail functionality.

Hope that helps.

Pano
