Unusual POP3 Question
How do All! I have what I must assume is an unusual situation, and I'm hoping you good folks can help. Our corporate Exchange system (2003) is run centrally and organisational policy does not permit POP3 to be run on the Exchange box (I don't know why). This ordinarily does not cause me a problem, but now I'm implementing a new Helpdesk system which needs to collect new tickets via this protocol. Here's the crux of the problem, does anyone know of a solution whereby I can make the emails in a given inbox accessible by POP3 without permitting it on the server? I'm either looking for a utility to access the mailbox and provide POP3 access or some alternate means to do so? Anyone have a suggestion for me ? Thanks a lot, Scravid.

You can permit it on the server and prohibit it on all
mailboxes except the one you want to allow.-- Ed Crowley

Hi,
You could choose all users which is forbidden to use pop3 in ADUC | Exchange task | Configure Exchange feature | disable pop3.
You could also set it at Pop3 virtual server | Access tab | Connection control | Only the list below.
Thanks,
Elvis
