Update Exchange 2007 SP1 to Exchange 2007 SP3
Hi,
I am hoping this is a simple question. I am running Exchange 2007 SP1. Can I update to SP3 or do I need to update to SP2 first? Only have one Exchange server. All roles are installed on one server. The server (unfortunately) is also a domain controller.
Also, are there any recommended checks I should do before updating the server?
Let me know if you need more info.

you can install sp3 on existing exchange 2007 sp1.
i have seen that transport service does not start and setup fails wihle installing HT on a DC. not sure if you will face while installling sp3
if you do reinstall with /donotstarttrasnport switch. (i am not sure of the switch.. check the setup /? fo find proper syntax)Dhruv

Hi Quazi,
You can install SP3 over Exchange 2007 SP1 server just you need to install Windows Installer 4.5installer for SP3 which need server reboot. On base of my past experience I am pointing out some points which could help you.
1: Agree with Dhru for HUB transport service may fail some time, if this issue occure then need to chnage reg value in server to increase time out value. Follow below URL:

2: Remove check mark option "Certification Revokation" from internet Explorer-->tools--Advanced
3: Restart remote registry service before start upgrade
4: Take a reboot of server before upgrade.
Good Luck !Anil
