Updating user name issue
I have a Exchange 2010 server in my organization and a while back we updated a user by renaming the display name, but the problem becomes that when I type the name in Outlook that in the drop down users see <new name>
old name. I deleted the entry from the local machine as I figured that the NK2 file maybe was just caching the old username, but when I open the global address list in Outlook I see that while the first and last name display properly in the Global
Address Book when I look at the address in Outlook 2003 I still see:
/o=First Organization/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=oldname
Outlook is pulling this information from this old information in the Global Address List. How do I go about updating the username so that this information is properly reflected in Outlook?
For reference the Exchange server is 2010 SP1 and the users are using Outlook 2003 SP3.

Hi,
This is value of LegacyExchangeDN, to reolve this issue you can put this value in mailbox property.

This particular user was originally created under Exchange 2003 so you are correct that this is a legacy Exchange display name. I will give the suggestion a try and let you know.

This particular user was originally created under Exchange 2003 so you are correct that this is a legacy Exchange display name. I edited the LegacyExchangeDN for the user in question and it now appears as the correct DN.
The only problem I saw was that previous messages are marked as being from "cn=oldname"
as opposed to "cn=newname" so I have a bunch of old email from this user that when I reply back it attempts to send to a non-existent user. Is there a easy way to go back and replace update the old email so that they reply to the new display name?
I know that I can just have people pull the correct name from the global address book as a workaround, but maybe there is an easy way to edit the emails in question so that I don't have this issue. As time passes this will obviously be less and less
of an issue as all the new email has the correct value, but is there a way to deal with this issue in the meantime.
