Upgrade to Exchange 2010 from 2007 which previously upgraded from 2003
I'm trying to set up an Exchange 2010 server in a forest with an existing Exchange 2007 server (one server only). The 2007 server was upgraded from 2003 several years ago and the 2003 server has long since been removed from the domain. I'm
failing installation prerequisites for 2010 becuase it is not compatible with Exchange 2003 in the same forest. How do I remove the vestiges of 2003 from my domain so that my upgrade from 2007 to 2010 can proceed?

I found one small AD error that I could remove with ADSI Edit. Exchange 2010's installer now passes the prerequisite tests. Thank you!
