Upgrade to Office 2010 from 2007 /2003
We are trying to upgrade our existing Office 2007 users to Office 2010 by pushing the install through a 3rd party application. In some instances the install seems to fail when the computer had at one time Office 2003 was then upgraded to Office 2007, and now we are trying to upgrade it again to Office 2010. The office 14 file structure seems to be there and there is no errors during the install but when you go to launch the applications you get errors or nothing happens. Two of the Outlook errors are as follows: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fullfill the message request. Please run Micrsoft Oulook and set as the default mail client." "The operation failed due to an installation problem. Restart Outlook and try again. If problem persists, please reinstall." Using the 3rd party application we have no problems with upgrades to from 2003 to 2010, or 2007 to 2010. The issue seems to be when we go from 2003 to 2007 to 2010. We need to use the automated deployment method since we are doing this for thousands of computers. Any advice?
