Use one exchange server to serve multiple sub-domains
Hello people, I do not have much experience with exchange, so let me know if i am incomplete with my information. Exchange : Exchange server 2007 Domain: Windows 2008 R2 We are planning to make a subdomain to seperate certain aspects of the network. That subdomain must be able to use exchange (so the need to have exchange mailboxes, no smtp routing) We have domain and child.domain. Our exchange server is located in domain, can this server serve as an exchange server for child.domain ? If so, can someone point me to some more information If it is impossible what alternatives are there Thank you in advance for any answers. werkplekbeheer

Yes, you can do that. Be sure to run Setup /PrepareDomain in the child domain http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288907(EXCHG.80).aspx
